Thursday, September 29 is National Coffee Day—otherwise known as your yearly excuse to overdose on caffeine without feeling guilty. Many noted coffee lovers hail from Massachusetts, and so a guide for celebrating on Thursday is in order. See below for special offerings from both local and national coffee shops located in the Boston area.

Dunkin’ Donuts

In honor of the Quincy-born chain’s 66th anniversary, Dunkin’ will be selling medium hot coffees for just 66 cents on Thursday.

Peet’s Coffee & Tea

A medium drip coffee from Peet’s is yours for free on Thursday once you purchase any fresh food item. You can also enjoy free shipping on non-subscription standard orders on the company’s website.

Thinking Cup

The independently-owned coffee shop chain, which claims three locations in Back Bay, the North End, and Downtown Crossing, will offer a free small coffee with the purchase of a sandwich or pastry.

Marylou’s

On National Coffee Day, Marylou’s  medium hot regular and gourmet coffees are selling for 30 cents.

Bruegger’s Bagels

National Coffee Day rounds out the sweepstakes period for a chance to win one of Bruegger’s 2017 Bottomless Mugs (that’s free coffee for an entire year). To enter, just visit your local Bruegger’s and take a photo of yourself with one of their coffee cups; next, post it on social media with the hashtags #BrueggersMugshot and #Contest.

McDonald’s

On Thursday, you can nab a free McCafé Hot Coffee of any size and flavor—including pumpkin spice—with any food purchase.

New England Coffee

Coinciding with the company’s 100th anniversary, New England Coffee is giving away commemorative items and coffee samples in Boston’s South Station/Dewey Square area from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. As part of its “Extraordinary People Campaign,” there will also be opportunities to win Visa gift cards and prizes online, plus a presentation by artist Gerard Tonti, who uses coffee and tea to create paintings.

Cumberland Farms

As a National Coffee Day special, Cumbies customers can pick up a free coffee—hot or iced, in any size—just by texting the code “FREECOFFEE” to 64827. The mobile coupon can only be redeemed on Thursday, but the espresso will keep flowing with Cumberland Farms’ “Free Coffee Fridays,” returning for the month of October at participating locations.
