2026 TV preview: Your guide to new and returning shows
A full 2026 TV preview, including a complete list of premiere dates for shows like "Scrubs," "Euphoria," and "Tracker."
After a couple of down years due to lingering effects of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the 2026 TV calendar is shaping up to be a strong one.
The list of 2026 TV premiere dates is full of exciting new shows, audience favorites returning for a new season, and a mix of reboots, revivals, and spinoffs.
About that last category: One interesting trend in both 2026’s TV preview and the 2026 list of upcoming movies is that the reboots are now firmly targeting the millennial demographic.
There are still plenty of Gen-X favorites returning for another round: Netflix is hosting the return of both the “Cosby Show” spinoff “A Different World” and the 80s talent competition “Star Search,” while Prime Video is throwing down the gauntlet with a second revival of “American Gladiators.”

But the biggest names in reboots seem most likely to please the thirtysomethings. First up is a “Scrubs” revival from Zach Braff (ABC, Feb. 25), followed by the return of Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and the rest of the family in “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” (Hulu, April 10).

Then there’s the case of “Ted Lasso,” created by “Scrubs” showrunner Bill Lawrence. It seemed like the feel-good comedy was done back in 2023, with Lawence moving on to pursue other projects. But Jason Sudeikis’ earnest football manager has reemerged for a fourth season, slated to debut on Apple TV in the summer. That one’s not so much a reboot as it is a reawakening.
Along with all of the new and returning shows coming to your home screens in 2026, I also went ahead and added the return date for all of your favorite fall TV shows. Because with all this playoff football happening on CBS, who can keep track of when “Tracker” gets back on track? (Spoiler alert: March 1.)

Also, please don’t be daunted by the giant list of shows with “release dates TBA” at the bottom of this article. Netflix has a habit of announcing all of its new original shows and movies at the beginning of the year with no almost release dates attached, but they almost always end up debuting during the calendar year. I will be sure to update this article regularly with new information on upcoming release dates.
