It’s not just the heat that’s got Boston in a tizzy. A new batch of “bombshell” Islanders have entered the Love Island USA villa, including one local contestant.
Bryan Arenales of Boston joined Casa Amor Monday night alongside 10 other new “bombshells.”
“Tune in and watch the drama and love unfold 🙂↕️ see you there….” he wrote on Instagram.
The hit reality dating competition, in its seventh season, follows a group of singles (known as Islanders) who live together in a remote villa in Fiji to find love. The Islanders undergo challenges, go on dates, and face recoupling ceremonies where they can choose to stay with their current partner or switch to someone new – all under near constant video scrutiny and under the watchful eye of millions of devoted fans.
Casa Amor is “the ultimate relationship test” in the franchise, in which the contestants are split up and new contestants (called “bombshells”) enter the show. Bombshells are periodically introduced throughout the run of the show to disrupt existing couples and create new dynamics.
To add to the “drama,” viewers can weigh in on which Islanders should stay in the villa and who should be coupled up. The winning couple takes home a $100,000 cash prize.
On Monday night’s episode, 11 new bombshells, five women and six men, were introduced to the Islanders at Casa Amor. After getting to know each other, the contestants will decide if they want to partner with a new bombshell or return to their original partners.
The bombshell arrival is part of the show’s signature twists and turns, and comes after a heartbreaking Sunday “dumping” episode that eliminated Islanders Hannah and Jeremiah.
Before his departure, Jeremiah was building a connection with villa-favorite Andreina. But the Dominican bombshell wasn’t single for long thanks to a coupling with Boston bombshell Bryan.
According to his Instagram profile, Arenales – nicknamed “Brizz” – is an avid runner and athlete who recently completed the Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon in May. The 28-year-old from Everett also ran the Boston Half Marathon in 2024.
He joined a Pioneers Run Crew event in March, and can be seen running along the Charles River Esplanade in multiple social media posts.
Arenales is also a 2018 graduate of Harvard Business School’s “Summer Venture in Management” program.
Love Island USA Season 7 is streaming exclusively on Peacock every night at 9 p.m. EST, except on Wednesdays.
