Broadway star and television actress Laura Benanti returned to The Late Show on Tuesday night with her spot-on impersonation of Melania Trump.

The faux Mrs. Trump, appearing “via satellite,” immediately began her interview with Stephen Colbert by informing the host that the pair was “completely alone.”

“There is no one else in the room coaching me,” she said, clearly focusing on someone off camera as she spoke.

Benanti’s appearance came a day after the real Melania Trump defended her husband in interviews with CNN and Fox & Friends. Benanti’s faux Mrs. Trump echoed the real Mrs. Trump’s defense of the lewd comments made by the Republican candidate during a 2005 conversation with then-Access Hollywood reporter Billy Bush.

“I said to my husband that those words were very inappropriate,” she said. “Plus, he said them on a bus. Disgusting.”

Later in the interview, Colbert asked the faux Mrs. Trump if she was alright, as she began to blink repeatedly at the camera.

“I am OK,” she said. “I am not blinking out in morse code that someone else is in the room telling me what to say.”

When pressed by Colbert about the “boy talk,” as Benanti’s Mrs. Trump called it, she said all boys and men are the same.

“Secretly they’re all foulmouthed, Billy Bush-grabbing pigs,” she said. “I’m talking about your husband, your brother, the pope, Luke Skywalker, all of them. … They’re all animals. If only a women could be president.”
