Local news anchors star in The Late Show skit

Stephen Colbert used a medical story on WBZ-TV to start his show Friday night.

Stephen Colbert began The Late Show Friday evening with a cold opener starring two local news reporters.

The show begins with Colbert sitting on a couch watching TV. On the screen, Dr. Mallika Marshall, a physician and medical reporter for WBZ-TV, and news anchor Paula Ebben appear during their broadcast, while reporting on a study about twins.

“If you’re a twin, you can expect to live longer than your non-twin counterparts,” Marshall said on the screen. “And if you’re an identical male twin, you might live even longer.”

The camera then goes back to Colbert, who said, “I did not know that,” before panning to his “evil twin” brother.
