OITNB’s new season will pick up where season three ended: Litchfield Penitentiary has become privatized, and is shaking up its staff. This leads to new guards and prisoners—another way for the show to introduce new faces.
Taylor Schilling and Uzo Aduba—both Massachusetts natives from Wayland and Medfield, respectively—are returning for the fourth season. Schilling plays the show’s protagonist, Piper Chapman, who is sentenced to 15 months at Litchfield for transporting drug money. Schilling was nominated in 2014 for a primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe, and nominated again for a Golden Globe in 2015.
Aduba is also coming back to OITNB as Suzanne Warren, aka “Crazy Eyes,” a supporting role in the series that earned her a primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama in 2015. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy the year before. Aduba was also nominated for Golden Globes in 2015 and 2016.
