While the new Ghostbusters movie due out this July has faced all sorts of misogynistic backlash, Bill Murray, an OG Ghostbuster, has instilled his faith in the reboot.

The actor appeared with the rest of the original cast of Ghostbusters—Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts—on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! to unite with the stars of the 2016 film: Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Melissa McCarthy.

“There have been so many pitches about a new Ghostbusters movie,” Kimmel said to Murray, “and you were reluctant to be a part of any of them until you heard this idea. Why was this idea appealing to you?”

Murray’s response: “It’s only because I knew these girls were funny.”

“There’s a lot on the plate, and there’s a lot of expectation,” Murray added. “But Danny and I, and Ernie and Annie, were just screaming and cheering like we were at a sporting event at the end of it.”
