MTV’s ‘The Real World’ is holding a casting call in Boston
Fake people need not apply.
Are you a real person living in the real world? If so, MTV is looking for you, fair human of civil reality.
MTV’s iconic and often tragic reality show The Real World is holding a casting call in Boston this month, continuing its meticulous search for people with strong personalities and not-so-humble opinions to join its upcoming season. Past seasons of The Real World, which has graced our collective consciousness for 30 (30!) seasons, have included many “characters’’ with over-the-top demeanors and a particular lust for melodrama and self-sabotage. You know, the usual.
Jonathan Murray, executive producer on the show, says his crew looks for “characters from real life.’’ An ideal cast member (or “roommate’’) “has a larger-than-life personality, a unique life story, an adventurous spirit and a personal magnetism that draws attention whenever they walk in the room,’’ according to a release.
The casting call will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 at Rock Bottom Brewery, 115 Stuart St., Boston. Applicants must be 21 years or older, and are required to bring a recent picture of themselves with a photo ID. More information can be found at bmpcasting.com.
Good luck, Real World aspirants. Here’s to hoping your reality is good enough for TV.
