Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers ‘Really!?!’ reunite on ‘Late Night’

Really? Really.

Really—Amy Poehler made a surprise guest appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers to resurrect the pair’s SNL segment, “Really?!? With Seth & Amy.’’

Meyers called out Sports Illustrated analyst Andy Benoit for tweeting that “women’s sports in general not worth watching,’’ as a response to comments about the current 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Benoit has since deleted the tweet and apologized for saying something “ignorant and extreme.’’

But to really shame Benoit, Meyers needed reinforcements, and who better than feminist-funny-woman Amy Poehler?

Poehler says sure, maybe there’s nothing in Women’s sports that’s exactly equivalent with the excitement of a LeBron James windmill dunk, but women actually have a lot in common with LeBron.

“We wear headbands, we love to travel and, much like LeBron in the finals, we often find ourselves asking, ‘Hey, can I get some help around here?’’’ Poehler says.

Poehler then focuses on the Women’s World Cup in general—specifically, how it’s relegated to Fox Sports 1. Really, who gets Fox Sports 1?

“C’mon networks, you’ll play six hours of pre-Kentucky Derby footage but you can’t broadcast women’s soccer?’’ Poehler says. “You think people would rather watch someone talk about hats than watch some badass American bitches take down Columbia? Really?!’’

She makes a good point. And really, we hope she makes another surprise appearance on Late Night.
