Enjoy March Skiing, National Play Hooky & Ski Week

By Heather Burke, Boston.com Correspondent
I love midweek skiing.
Monday at Loon Mountain was perfection — 3 to 4 inches of fresh fluffy powder, and very few people. Then the sun came out. I worked over the weekend and was jealous of friends’ sunny Saturday ski pics and posts, so this was my reward. And I was reminded of how the goods can be reaped Monday through Friday, when you’re looking at empty chairlifts and wide open trails.
I also love March skiing. This is the perennial best time to ski because there are longer and sunnier days, warmer temps, and a season’s worth of snow accumulation on the slopes (which is substantial this year). March typically brings more snow too, like Monday’s delightful dusting.
This week also happens to be the 4th annual National Play Hooky & Ski Week. Liftopia is behind this campaign, tempting you to skip out of work and school by offering money-saving deals on midweek lift tickets March 2-5. See Liftopia’s lift ticket deals here and I will see you on the slopes.
