New Outdoor Technology May Be at Your Fingertips

I love local ingenuity, and anything to do with ski technology. So the GoGlove spoke to me.
Here are two guys from Massachusetts, Ben Harris and his cousin Eric, both skiers and buddies. Eric is the techy, Ben is all business. On a chairlift ride they hatched a plan to produce a GoGlove – a simple tap-touch method to control your music on the go. When you are skiing, you simply tap your fingertips to engage magnetic sensors in their custom glove liner, to control your music and camera on your cell phone.
The GoGlove works with iPhone or Android, and GoPro, via bluetooth. For anyone out there who has fumbled with removing their gloves to adjust the volume, or change songs, start or stop a GoPro video, while freezing their digits, this is a cool contraption. GoGlove is the first-ever Bluetooth glove with AirTap technology. Eric and Ben sent me a GoGlove model, and I was surprised at how easy it was to sync to my phone and control my tunes with a tap of the finger. See the GoGlove video on Kickstarter
Here’s where it gets interesting, Ben and Eric have placed their GoGlove prototype on Kickstarter, and they are so close to their goal of $40,000 in backers, but very close to deadline too – Dec. 4.
If you love music on the mountain, while skiing, hiking, or biking, but don’t like having to remove your gloves (brrr) to adjust the volume or change songs, the GoGlove might be just right for you. You can also take phone photos remotely or control your GoPro with the GoGlove, providing much better selfies on the mountain. Check out GoGlove’s Kickstarter promo, pledge $79 or more to get a pair while supplies last, and get in on the grass roots local tech invention.
