Here comes Hercules – more snow for skiers!

Here we go 2014. We are starting the year with more snow, as snow storm Hercules sweeps through New England. I admittedly enjoy the Weather Channel winter storm names, it give personality and punch to snow storms. Who can forget last year’s Nemo, right?
Ski resorts like Wachusett, Gunstock and Jiminy Peak, Mount Snow and Camden Snowbowl should see up to a foot in the next 24 hours from this storm. My prediction is that this will be a great weekend to ski. This incoming snow is looking very dry, light and fluffy – a skier’s dream, hero snow for shoveling too I suppose. The first January weekend after the holidays is typically much quieter on the ski slopes. Friday, Saturday and Sunday should be great days on the ski slopes, with Saturday being the sunniest. If you call yourself a skier, you should be making plans for “powder flu Friday” and weekend warrior skiing.

Ski Trivia: Name this fire tower at the summit of a New England ski resort?
