What’s your ski story? Okemo wants to know!
Ski resorts are constantly pounding you with “snow mail” in you inbox, deals and discounts du jour. But how often do they ask you what you really think?

What motivates you to go to the mountains every weekend? What’s precious about the sport of skiing for you? The folks at Okemo want to know. Post your pictures and your story at www.Okemo.com and they’ll be put them up for all to see. Mind you, it’s a publicity stunt, but it has a unique personal touch and I applaud the creativity to the campaign.
Since they asked, here’s our Okemo story:
Our family loves our early December ski weekend in

Okemo. Why? Because we know Okemo will have the snow. When other New England resorts are contemplating opening up, Okemo has miles of manmade cord. This year, Okemo had more terrain than any resort in Vermont, the most in New England in fact.
And while other families are crushing into crowded malls shopping for the holidays, we are cruising the slopes and enjoying precious ski time together. We often start our ski season on Okemo’s classic trails – Defiance, World Cup, and Sapphire.

Staying slopeside at the Jackson Gore Inn is the kids’ and my preference; we like to walk to the pool, the fireplace lobby and the restaurants all under one roof. And honestly, my kids love elevators, I like underground parking. My husband prefers the Solitude Mountain Condos, he likes the spaciousness, the serenity and the sunrise over the Vermont hills. Both are ski in and ski out, so no penalty either place you stay.
I’d be remiss not to mention the culinary treats at

Okemo, we look forward to eating lunch at Sitting Bull and Epic at Solitude looking up at the slopes. The fact that Okemo refers to their food and beverage as culinary services shows their commitment to delicious quality food. Duck quesadillas are far more appetizing than standard ski area chilly cheese fries. On our way home, we cut our own fresh Vermont Christmas tree to bring home for the holidays. That’s our Okemo tradition.
If you have an Okemo story, you should share it. You can even send in a video, if you are that technically savvy. No Okemo story? There’s a remedy for that, go ski.
