Potential for Suburban First Descents
A major storm is currently bearing down on the East Coast, leaving a thick coating of wet snow in its wake. The storm is also completely missing Northern Vermont, which is currently trapped in the icy grip of an arctic high pressure system. Since I have no current, jealousy-inducing, photos of northern Vermont, I feel obligated to encourage everyone to take this opportunity to look at the terrain around their homes with new eyes, and nab a potential first descent while the opportunity exists. Every town has a little shot through the woods, a city park, or a mini cliff band that, if it just got some snow, would certainly be skiable. We’ll, the snow, along with your chance to enter the ranks of the world’s elite “First-Descents Club”, has arrived.
Carpe Diem
