Weather Update
So far, the S.G. has been staying away from following weather, at least making an effort to keep it toned down until we officially hit winter. It has been difficult to ignore though.
Just look at this week. Monday was frigid. Tuesday a time of transition. Wednesday brought mild temps with high winds and rain. Now it is Thursday and we are looking at a powerful winter storm.

The Mountains: Many of the higher elevations in the Green Mountains (VT) picked up some real snow totals Sunday night. It was so cold on Monday; I doubt anyone took advantage of the double-digit tallies atop places like Killington and Stowe. There was enough snow on the slopes for Sugarbush to spin the Castlerock chair this week (no snowmaking in that part of the ski area). Yesterday – I watched the rain/snow line on the radar loop creep South form the Saint Lawrence River all the way down to the Mass boarder.
For current snow totals at you favorite mountains check this LINK.
Weekend: The good news is that there was already base. A good one, that should be able to handle the rain yesterday. Follow with by below freezing temperatures and then more snow today. Some mountains will receive over a foot of fresh.
It is going to add up to a terrific weekend for all the skiers and riders in our region.
Storm updates soon. Stay tuned, this should be a good one..
Make plans now to ski this weekend.
Think Snow,
