Interference on the Pats?
Saw this picture and knew it belonged on the S.G. Blog.
It reminded me of a conversation I had during the Ski Expo with a resort person. They were actually complaining that the Patriots being so AWESOME would hurt the business at the ski area.

The S.G. understands that side of the fence. I was more interested in the potential of the opportunity. Mine as well take a time out and break this down.
The bad for biz stance: Got it, if the Patriots were playing every Sunday at 1:00 pm and the conditions were terrible folks would rather stay home. That is not hard math to do.
The remaining schedule
12/3 Monday 8:30 pm @ Baltimore
• Not a concern for the weekend skier
12/9 Sunday 4:15 pm vs. Steelers
• Mountains: Offer a sweet deal for skiers wearing Patriots gear on Saturday
• Show off the snow that has been made and fallen
• Good start to the season for most, could be the S.G.’s launch
12/16 Sunday 1:00 pm vs. Jets
• The game slated on NBC is NY Giants vs. Redskins
• That will get bounced if the Pats are still sporting a goose egg in the “L” column
• Mountains: If the Pats move to the night game, areas should bang out a New England NFL ski & stay package. 1 night Sat, 2 day lift ticket (wink wink)
• Every area should be spinning the lifts this weekend
• Ski Saturday, then Sunday morning and home for din din and the game
• Off Piste call – the Patriots break the NFL single game scoring record of 72 points for a team (set by the Redskins 11/27/66)
Copper opened the first Superpipe in North America. Makes me wonder, is there any other one currently open on the planet?

12/23 Sunday 1:00 pm vs. Dolphins
• Flex game scheduled on NBC is San Francisco vs. Buccaneers
• C’mon
• Note – watching the 49’ers pile up #s in the “L” column is the S.G. second favorite NFL activety this season
12/29 Saturday 8:15 pm @ New York (Giants)
• No brainer…
• This is the weekend leading into New Years, take Monday off (mini ski vacation)
• Plan a trip and hit the slopes
• Find a place with prime televisions, sound, and get after it…
• Chance of a powder day Sunday 12/30, very high
• Triple, better yet quadruple check to insure that where you plan on watching the game has the NFL Network. Take NO chance, do your homework.
Tangent: Would it be as unprecedented to see the Patriots get both those flex games, as it has been to see their coach change the face of the modern game? During the Eagles second drive they went for it on forth down, instead of attempting to put an easy 3 on the board. When have you ever seen that before? They must have been running it up.
Point: Take Super Bowl Monday off. Request the day now. Seriously.
The Summary:
The football team and its schedule will more than likely fit nicely into the early season for the skiers and riders in New England.
Recommendation: For a day trip think Pats Peak in Henniker, NH. Only a little over one hours drive from downtown (no traffic, dry roads of course). Check it – they got everything for families, good snowmaking, good parking, and steep quick pitch off the front.
Pretty sweet name also.
Think Snow from the sky,
S.G.
