New Snow – Resorts Opening with Powder!
The 2007/2008 Ski Season is kicking off much in the same manner last years ended. So far, we have had many surprises and plenty of fresh snow.
Right now we are talking about snow and mountains that are opening!
These Samoyeds are owned by Jake Webster and they love the snow at Jay Peak! photo taken 11/16

S.G. Note: Most of my North Country contacts are actually down in the Hub for the Ski Expo. I would imagine that if everyone was back at their mountains I would have more info and pictures then I could possibly use. That said, if you are interested in a resort that is not mentioned hit this LINK.
Snow Alert: Sugarloaf USA, ME
Got this report just this afternoon. The mountain in Maine is getting pounded with fresh snow.
SNOW = As of about 3:30 this afternoon (11/16) da Loaf has received about 10 inches of snow at 3000 feet. At the base (1700 feet) there is about 8 inches on the ground.

Mountain: Snowmaking has resumed and it is anticipated additional terrain will open tomorrow. Projecting to have about 1800 vertical feet of terrain with 3 lifts – check the website for updates.
Snow Alert: Jay Peak Resort, VT
The inbox was lit up from a friend up there and they are getting dumped on! It is snowing so hard that getting any landscape shots of the mountain is impossible.
SNOW = 4-6” yesterday + 6-10” so far today for a total of 10-16” with more in the forecast before morning.
Mountain: The slopes will be opening tomorrow (Saturday 11/17) with the Jet Triple chair on Stateside. Several trails should be open and others will be skiable (but you did not hear that form the S.G.) with the new snow. Snowmaking operations will continue through next week (as long as temps as good). Tramside is the goal for next weekend – check the website for updates.

They all plan on opening/operating this weekend (but make that call to double check before you make the drive). Stay Tuned, more should be coming soon. Here is the list as it currently stands.
