More New Snow Unbelievable

What else can you really say? I already have taken this Friday off and am thinking about Tuesday and Wednesday. The mountains are going to get blitzed with more than a foot.

The snow event will begin Thursday morning. There will be a break Friday into Saturday (time to ski). Then Sunday it will start again (could be some rain) and it will go right through Tuesday.

Best Picks for this weekend

Sugarloaf, ME – The annual Reggae Festival is this weekend. The resort has the best conditions on tap EVER (inception in 1988) for the ultimate spring skiing throw down in the East. Take an extra day and head to Maine.

The S.G. angle is Mad River Glen and Sugarbush. I left a voice mail for a friend up there. It went something like, “Someone needs to get out there and Pull the cord that starts the old diesel engine one last time this Friday.”
The Single Chair should be running. Keeping the fingers crossed. I realize I am kidding myself here.
The Castlerock double will be spinning. Sugarbush has 100% of South (Lincoln Peak) open. In past years it has always been North (Mount Ellen) that took the resorts visitors deep into spring.
With the brand new base area at Lincoln peak the resort made a wise switch.
Honestly, anything that is still open and operating will have fantastic skiing and riding after a fresh shot of snow. Hit this LINK to check out your favorite areas status.
This run from mid January up to this weekend is a ski enthusiasts DREAM if you live around New England.
Northern NH, VT & ME are all drenched in snow. It is not diet time. There is a full scale, severity five, powder alert in affect.
No one can be ready for this sort of thing; mentally it is just not normal. I will admit that burn-out is something I am suffering from. I resigned to the season ending weeks ago. I have already had two killer spring weekends (last in March, first in April).
Here we are though. New England is in the middle of the best run of skiing it has seen in decades. This weekend promises to be Brilliant – again.
Keep an ear to the ground. Tuesday into Wednesday could be completely off the charts, if it keeps snowing and stays cold. Unbelievable really.
Go Skiing!
I do not know what else to tell you.
It was wicked awesome last Friday at Stowe. Sine it has stayed cold, snowed more and there has been very light skier traffic. Fresh lines are still everywhere.
If you ski, and like skiing in some of the BEST conditions on the planet, forget about anything else and hit it.
FACT: This weekend skiing in New England is legit.
GO GET SOME!
& then GET SOME MORE!
Enjoy,
S.G.
