Plenty of Spring Skiing left in New England

This past weekend was many resorts last for the season. Perfect weather was featured across New England for the spring parties that went off all over ski country. There are probably many skiers (and ski area employees) that were dragging Monday from a weekend in full throttle.

I sampled the spring snow up at Sunday River. Both days the surface loosened up and got soft by noon. The sun was pounding, without cloud cover until late on Sunday afternoon.

There was a ton of events going on. Parrot Head weekend, the Bust and Burn Mogul Competition, and pound skimming.

Right now, it is more important to focus on this coming weekend. We are looking at a very good few days of spring skiing towards the end of this week. Take your holiday on Friday and go skiing! As most now know there is snow in the forecast through Thursday evening for the mountains.
Seriously…some places could pick up to a foot of new snow.
The trick now is figuring out where to go. With most operations winding down at smaller areas this past weekend, choices have diminished.
Those that are still open have great skiing!
Remember, even though terrain is limited to mostly snowmaking trails the crowds will be light. Through some fresh snow and then warming temps with sunshine into that equation = Eureka!
Easter Weekend could be the New England skier’s payback for enduring the lackluster Christmas, New Years and MLK holiday periods this season. Remember how shot those times were? No snow, no cold air, no good skiing.
In Short: This weekend looks for plenty of spring snow, with some fresh on top, and some pleasant sunny weather in the mountains. Definitely worth the wait if you are a fair weather skier.
I did a little snooping around and here is a breakdown on the areas that still got snow and are open for lift rides. Were applicable, I have included a few tidbits on each player still in the game. They should all be sticking around as planned through this weekend.
Tip: There are a lot of season pass deals going on right now for next season. Most resorts will let you ski free the rest of this season if you purchase a pass for the next. The All 4 One Pass offered by ASC will be no more, so you may want to think about this now and take advantage of the spring offers, most are listed on the areas websites (links below).
