Saint Patrick went Skiing
At the beginning of every ski season I pull out the calendar and pencil in a couple days. Super Bowl Monday & St. Patrick’s Day are the two. Both make for great long ski weekends. (Yes, I am aware that the 17th of March sometimes falls midweek)
This year Super Bowl Monday yielded a few wonderful days of skiing in fresh snow up in Stowe, VT.
This weekend IRISH DAY will be over-serving the skiers and riders of New England with POWDER.
I hate to say I told you SO. But I did, read the last ENTRY to the blog.
J.L. getting big air and a bit OC up at Jay Peak
Honestly, this is going to be a fantastic weekend of ideal mid winter conditions.
Read: POWDER & Packed Powder! The mountains of New England are looking to pick up 1 – 2 Feet of new snow through Saturday (3/17/07).
There is big snow in the forecast for the mountains.
Areas are in full operation.
Visitors and locals are in grand spirits.
Here is an information dump of what came across the S.G. inbox from the resorts that may help you make that decision you already know you should.
Go skiing!

Bretton Woods, NH – keeping it real…
The St. Patrick’s Day custom came to America in 1737 in Boston. Today, we celebrate with wearing of green, “the first green of spring,” and searching for the much-celebrated four-leaf clover that represents good luck, or your pot of gold, or the hidden leprechaun that protects his pot of gold. This weekend we will celebrate much of the same with many of our activities centered on this same festivity and fun.

Butternut, MA
Seems that the Leprechauns have already visited and left a little of their gold at Ski Butternut. So we decided to share the wealth with our guests. This is the first weekend when our lift ticket prices have been reduced to just $15 (for anyone age 7-70+) instead of our regular $49 adult weekend rate.
We are 100% open with a deep 50 inch base. All 22 trails will be open and we’ll have 7 lifts in operation including all 3 of our quad lifts.
The $15 Lift Ticket Rate is our Late Season Special designed to entice people who have not yet visited the mountain to come on out for a day and to stick with our theme of keeping skiing and riding affordable for families.
We think they will like it just as much as the Leprechauns did. And if they do like what they find they can upgrade their day ticket to a season pass for next winter by just paying the difference before they leave. See prices below in my sign off.
Ski Butternut season passes for winter 2007-08 are valid every day – (no blackout dates here). And when you buy now you get a Bonus: You can use your new pass to ski the rest of this winter for free.
$15 LIFT TICKETS every day through the end of the season including Weekends. Now that’s a spring special to take advantage of.
Have Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and may your turns look like rainbows.
