MLK Weekend SNOW

Looking for something to make you smile? Check out the new snow that the resorts of New England are picking up. LINK Keep in mind that the snowmaking efforts are on full throttle. It is also supposed to snow all weekend, with a major long term pattern change (GOOD – very good) beginning early next week!

All this considered MLK weekend will be the best we have seen so far this season. Take it and turn.

Mount Sunapee, NH
This week the mountain had been In the process of a major snowmaking push. Most resorts will be resurfacing existing terrain or re-opening trails after last weekend. Sunapee base depths are such that they will be expanding terrain this week. By Friday 30 trails and slopes should be open totaling almost eight miles for terrain. This will probably be most trails open in New Hampshire.
Do you have children?
Monday, January 15 we are hosting the Sports Illustrated Kids Next Snow Search Qualifier. This is for children 9-13 years old, both skiers and snowboarders combined. Not only are kids judged on skiing and riding athletic ability, they are judged on attitude and personality. They need to write a 100-150 word essay to enter and this year’s topic is: “If I could change one thing in the world, what would it be and why”. This is a great event that rewards all-around good kids. The winner and a parent get an all expenses paid trip to the Next Snow Search Finals. Registration is 8:00am to 9:30am. The event starts at 10:00am. It costs $10 to enter and each participant must have a ticket or pass.
