Ski City News Flash

Boston, MA

– Man arrested on top of Back Bay landmark for throwing confetti into the air. The Hancock Tower, Boston’s tallest building at 790 feet, had an unexpected visitor Wednesday evening. The person, dressed in full ski gear (most of it circa 1983 – including the boots), was safely taken into custody by officials and removed from the rooftop.

After over an hour of negotiation the trespasser—who is identifying himself only as the Ski Guru—was finally lured away from the edge of the skyscraper. The abnormal behavior led specialists to hypothesize he may be suicidal and was considering a jump.
“The guy was sitting on the North East corner of the building with his feet dangling over the edge,” according to one of the first security guards on the scene.
“It was a spooky site. He had what appeared to be a backpack filled with white confetti and was throwing it into the air above his head.”
The authorities had to be careful coaxing the Ski Guru away from the edge. They had to take him seriously. He had on a pink neck warmer and a hat with Moose antlers; eyes of course hidden by goggles. While constantly claiming he would “Drop In!” if anyone moved in any closer to his position.
It is still under investigation how this person gained access to such a highly restricted area. The roof of the Hancock Tower is well guarded and is not open to the public.
As he was being forcefully led away from the scene the man shouted to reporters, “I’m Innocent! It was a ceremony for snow. You cannot put me in a cage now… We are going to get Dumped!”
Before disappearing into the back seat of a cruiser the Ski Guru calmly reflected, “It was sacred, Old Man Winter himself blessed that confetti, and it was snow!”
