Snow Turkeys
You are probably at work reading this. More than likely it is either Wednesday afternoon or Friday. Regardless, you are not busy. Honestly, nobody has any reason to feel guilty. It is an American holiday.
Actually no one else is even at work. Why are you?
When do you think Boston will see our first recordable snow over at Logan?
Already late, the average first snow accumulation for the city of Boston typically is on November 4th.

More importantly (at least for the S.G.) is when will we get the first two storms in the mountains? That is the question that will distract me as I sit in traffic on the greatest turnpike in MA over the course of the next few days. The funny thing is my complete and utter inability to do anything about either one (traffic & snow).
The Vibe: Give you bases a break.
Here is why it takes two good back to back storms to really kick start the season.
The first one is the warm up. Stick to the snowmaking trails and get there early. The powder will get eaten alive on these trails because ever skier ‘in the know’ realizes that you will not bottom out your skis. Charge hard early and you should not need an entire day. If the conditions are still holding up around lunch I force myself to take it easy, tomorrow will be better. “Beer me – and Save my Legs.”
The second storm is when it really goes off. By then locals have packed lines in the woods. Obstacles may have been marked by patrols. Throw another huge helping of snow on top and Eureka!

Snow Report: primary surface – Powder; secondary surface – Powder!
Results: you really cannot stop skiing or smiling
