Sugarloaf, ME
At Sugarloaf, it’s going to be like New Year’s Eve all week long at the Widowmaker. We’ve got Motor Booty Affair on Dec. 28, Sugarfoot and the Blazen Brass Band on the 30th, and The Cusaks on the 31st for NYE. They are a terrific party band that plays classic rock anthems of the 70s topped with party hits of the 80s and 90s. $15 per person or $20 per couple.
We also will have a family NYE party in the base lodge with a DJ, dancing, games, contests and activities for the whole family, followed by fireworks at 9:30.
That’s what we have after the lifts close. During the day we’re going to have some of the best holiday week conditions we’ve ever had. The summit will be open in time for Christmas along with 2 terrain parks, the Pipe Dreams Superpipe, and at least 65 trails. If the current weather forecast holds true and we get just a little bit more natural snow, the trail count will shoot up over 100.
I skied this morning and found trails with virtually untracked powder that were amazing. We got 10 inches of snow this past Friday and we’ve been getting an inch or two here, a couple more there, since. That’s on top of non-stop snowmaking since the beginning of the month.
Sunday River, ME
New Year’s Eve Bash at Thumpers Night Club featuring the Sam Kininger Band.

Shawnee Peak, ME
The lifts are open till 10pm December 31st.
We have an awesome lineup in Blizzard’s Pub for the partiers out there!
Bruce Marshall (formerly of the Marshall Tucker Band) will be here with his band with originals and rock n roll favorites from 8:30pm-close!
$40/person for dinner buffet (buffet starts at 6:30) and live entertainment.

THE TRADITION OF WINTERFEST AT ATTITASH CONTINUES
Dec 26 – Jan 1, 7 days full of on-and-off-snow activities for all ages
BARTLETT NH (Dec 6, 2005) – Bring the family to Attitash this holiday for a week full of daily races, quirky activities and après ski events. The resort will host daily events starting December 26 with favorites like the Fruit Cake Toss, Family Fun Race and Snow Golf.
“Kids get a kick out of our activities from the ‘Pop Till You Drop’ Balloon Relay to Banana Jousting or our On Snow Golf Challenge,” said Heidi Loecher-Duffy, event coordinator for Attitash. “Families can participate together or gather at the end of the day for our après ski events.”
There is no pre-registration required for the majority of events so participants can just show up in the Attitash Base Area and join in the fun.
Some of the racing events require pre-registration along with a fee. For a more relaxed race opportunity a recreational GS course will be available for daily racing from 11:00am -3:00pm with a charge of $2.00 per run or $15.00 for 10 runs. Visit www.attitash.com/events for further details.
The highlight of the week is The Bud Light Rail Jam, which will take place outside of Ptarmigan’s Pub at 1:00pm on Saturday December 31. Some of the East’s best skiers and riders will battle for cash prizes using some of the resort’s signature rails from the terrain park. Competitors can register on-line at www.attitash.com/events or on the day of event from 11:00am-12:00pm for a $50 registration fee.
Part of the Bud Light Rail Jam will feature music from the I-Rates, a Portland based reggae band, who later will move inside to Ptarmigan’s Pub for après ski from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Other après ski events during Winterfest include the band Foglifter playing on December 28, “Wild Bill” Corney on December 29 and DJ Tory, December 30. Free to everyone, the resort encourages visitors and residents of the Mount Washington Valley to participate in their après ski events at Ptarmigan’s Pub throughout the season.

SKI NH
Special deals for the holidays – One of the best ways to save money on holiday lift tickets is to pre-purchase Ski NH’s Anywhere Anytime ticket package. The tickets are transferable (meaning a family or friends can share the tickets) and they are valid any day, including weekends and holidays. We start selling these tickets in July so we are sold out of many popular areas by this time of year (Bretton Woods, Wildcat, Loon, Attitash, etc.) but we still have tickets available for Waterville Valley, Cannon Mountain, Gunstock and most of NH’s smaller ski areas. Here’s a link to the information: http://www.skinh.com/anywheranytime.cfm If anyone wants to get on the mailing list for next summer, they can email us their information to [email protected].
Overall great deals have their own page on our website: http://www.skinh.com/deals.cfm This page is continually updated as we hear about new deals from our member areas. The goal of this page is to give skiers and riders coming to NH a one-stop resource to catch up on all the latest ways to ski as affordably as possible !
