Skiing

Missed, but in good shape.

Storm missed us south. Looks like Yawgoo Valley is picking up some fresh. Do not be fooled by the radar loops, even though you may see blue precipitation over Boston—the Cape, RI and CT are the only places seeing flakes actually hit the ground.

Some real snow?
The Rockies are getting shelled. I would imagine literally, if the avalanche guns are blasting. Is there a cooler job in the industry than pulling that cord? With resorts already sporting 40 to 60 inche base depths I am sure that vacancies are diificult to find for the approaching Holiday’s.
Check the forum for a couple of mountain reports.

The Great Lakes: They are filled with hot water and have not even thought about freezing over yet. Lake Effect snow is how we develop bases in the East, and that statement goes beyond New England. The artic Eastern breeze that blows over them collecting moisture crawls north and south, but sometimes remains in a steady stream. The difference between 2 to 4 inches or a foot plus…
Jay Peak and Stowe are reporting new snow this morning. Check Conditions.
The best is yet to come. The long range weather for the rest of this year looks promising for more coastal storms.
Brace yourselves. I just brought my new ride over to Ski Market to get the bindings drilled in.
Optimistic?
No, just aware that the weekend ahead may deliver some fantastic mid winter conditions with light crowds. Most are neck deep in holiday partying and shopping. Good time to ski!
