Popular Italian eatery Giacomo’s is opening a Melrose location
The Italian restaurant is expanding to the suburbs.
Giacomo’s Ristorante, a popular Italian eatery with spots in the North End and South End, is making moves to Melrose.
The restaurant, known for its classic Italian fare deemed worthy of long lines and its cash-only status, will open its first suburban locale on May 23, according to a Facebook post.

The Melrose eatery will be at 454 Main St. and will accept credit cards, but won’t offer reservations or call-ahead seating. It will open every day at 4 p.m. and stay open until 10 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, midnight on Thursday and Friday, and until 9:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Giacomo’s will offer the same menu in Melrose as its two Boston locations, featuring classic Italian-American offerings like chicken and eggplant parmigiana, shrimp linguine, and lobster carbonara.
