“Now honies play me close like butter plays toast,’’ Biggie Smalls once rapped.

And now, rapper Action Bronson, who used to be a chef, wants to eat some butter on some toast. In other words, he recently asked where he should get breakfast in Boston.

Here are some suggestions:

South Street Diner:

If Action is out late, and, in the words of Jay Z, “dinner’s now turned into breakfast,’’ he should hit up South Street Diner. It’s open 24/7 (which is a big deal for Boston, the city that always sleeps) and you can get thin and delicious sweet potato fries, killer chocolate chip and banana pancakes, and a burger on the side.

Commonwealth:

This Kendall Square spot has a great copper-topped bar with equally as amazing brunch cocktails, if Bronson wants to sip on gin and juice like Snoop Dogg. They also have an amazing, huge coffee cake. And something called The 18 Wheeler, which consists of three Eggs, bacon, pastrami, duck fat homefries, an English muffin, and a grapefruit slice, which the menu says is there to justify the pastrami & bacon.

Alden & Harlow:

Chef Michael Scelfo is a big fan of rap, and even devotes occaisional brunches to Notorious B.I.G, which he calls Biggie Brunches. Bronson might like the Braised Oxtail Meat, the Pig’s Blood Scrapple, or a more classic choice like the Biscuits and Gravy.

Gaslight Brasserie:

This South End spot is stacked with French classics (to quote Kanye and Jay Z: “Excuse my French, but I’m in France,’’) if Bronson wants to get his fancy on. The Truffled Scrambled Egg Tartine is what truffle dreams are made of, and they’ve got a great “Les Fuits de Mer’’ section, if he’s craving oysters or something else briny.

The Friendly Toast:

They do a mean breakfast, and the portions are huge. The decor is pretty funky, too, if Bronson is also into interior decorating.

So there you go, Mr. Bronson. Hope you get to have not only breakfast in Boston, but also “lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool,’’ to quote Biggie one last time.
