Hopper Dubs Boston Seventh Best Pizza City in U.S.
Hopper, a relatively new travel start-up, is dishing out rankings for the best of the best across the U.S. and surprise: Boston made the list of the site’s seven best pizza cities in the country.
Don’t get too excited, though. Hopper dubbed our fair city seventh out of seven. Really.
It’s worth mentioning that the list’s author, Toby Hill, has a bio that reads “Toby is a writer and journalist with an interest in travel and adventure. His work takes him across the UK and Europe, but he lives in London.’’ A London-based, European-traveling journalist writing about American pizza? Something seems amiss here.
Philadelphia (No. 6) and Providence (No. 5) are ranked ahead of Boston in Hill’s round-up, followed by Chicago (No. 4), New Haven, Conn. (No. 3), Trenton, N.J. (No. 2), and the big cheese goes to the Big Apple.
We’d love to ask Hill how he came up with his rankings, which were originally published on Jan. 2, because really, can anything honestly compete with the likes of Santarpio’s, Pizzeria Regina, and Galleria Umberto?
If Hill’s work ever takes him to the U.S., send him our way. We’re sure a few Boston restaurants will have pies with his name on them.
