We have found Boston’s best boyfriend
(And he’s a guy named Steve.)
After careful deliberation, the decision has been made and we have found Boston’s best boyfriend.
He’s a guy named Steve, and he did something very cool with snow.
Earlier this week, we asked Boston.com readers to nominate their men for the “Boston’s best boyfriend’’ contest. Many a strong submission came across our desks, but there could only be one winner, and it’s Steve Campbell from Lynnfield.
“Way back before we had any snow this winter, I was wicked bummed that we weren’t going to have a white Christmas,’’ said Steve’s girlfriend, Amanda Holm. “Steve brought me a truckload of snow on Christmas morning.’’
In order for Holm to have the Christmas of her dreams, Steve called in a favor from his buddies at a local skating rink, asking them to set aside ice shavings for him so he could bring his girlfriend “snow’’ on the wintry holiday.
Other top-notch boyfriend things Steve has done:
– Sent Holm flowers at her office – Fixed her car without being asked – Tracked down an out-of-press album from her father’s favorite band
That’s just good boyfriending.
“My sister and friends have been using him as an example of what they want their boyfriends to be,’’ Holm continued. “My nephew, who is 15, recently told me that he loves Steve and is glad to have him as a part of our family. He can tell he loves me and treats me so well.’’
Two other great entries that deserve shoutouts:

Tracysway40’s husband, who was her very first boyfriend and, reportedly, “worth the wait.’’

Alexa Marsh’s boyfriend, who remained supportive despite the couple’s long-distance setup.
Boston, you’ve got some really good boyfriends.
