Watch: Jon Stewart unveils ‘government-approved’ Daily Show in wake of Kimmel flap

"We have another fun, hilarious, administration-compliant show."

Kimmel Suspended:

In the wake of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension by ABC — ostensibly over comments he made in the wake of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk — Jon Stewart made a special Thursday-night appearance on “The Daily Show.”

But it wasn’t just any Daily Show: It was the “all new, government-approved Daily Show, with your patriotically obedient host, Jon Stewart.”

Spoofing state-sponsored television under authoritarian regimes, Stewart — who typically only hosts on Mondays — broadcast from a new set adorned with golden flourishes similar to those President Donald Trump has added to the White House, and referred to the president as “our dear father.”
