10 must-trys from the SoWa food trucks

For the ideal Sunday, Chris Masci suggests visiting the South End Open Market @ SoWa. He says to start at the farmers’ market and grab a doughnut or some fruit to snack on before meandering through the arts market.

It’s the food trucks that make the markets “really worthwhile,’’ according to Masci (and everyone else who likes to eat).

Masci, the owner and founder of New England Open Markets, started the SoWa market in 2003, and the food trucks arrived in August of 2010, bringing with them universally positive reviews, he said.

Since then, a weekly rotating cast of trucks — featuring everything from Korean-Mexican fusion to Kosher — roll over to the SoWa market, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays through October 25.

“They offer customers a chance to experience a variety in food they otherwise may not get to enjoy,’’ he said. “They also offer the perfect meeting place for friends and family and add a festive yummy element to the markets.’’
