Cape Cod Dubbed ‘Sweet Spot’ for Fall
Cape Cod has been named a “travel sweet spot’’ for fall. TravelZoo writer Andrew Young recommends hitting the beach in late September, when places like the Cape have all sorts of special deals. The reason? These resort towns see considerable drop off after Labor Day, Young says, and are hunkering for all the travelers they can get. The best time to visit is during the week, when the rates – and the traffic – are at their lowest. And, let’s be honest: Fewer crowds and a fatter pocketbook are two things we ALL could enjoy.
For those looking to extend their summer, here are some offers to check out:

Winstead Inn
1. Stay five nights and only pay for three at Harwich Port’s Winstead Inn & Beach Resort, which has all the trappings of a turn-of-century hotel. Olivia L. posted on TripAdvisor recently that she “couldn’t wait to return’’ to the heated pool and pretty porch rocking chairs – even her hard-to-please husband was hooked.
4 Braddock St., Hawich Port. Sept. 28-Oct. 23. Breakfast included. Call 508-432-4444 for rates.
Inn on the Beach
2. Book six nights and get a seventh night free at Inn on the Beach, a newly-renovated lodge praised on TripAdvisor for its friendly staff and beachfront location. It’s a “great beach escape,’’ writes TripAdvisor reviewer eafarell – and it even boasts a fire pit for fall.
16 Bank St., Harwich Port. Sept. 30 to Oct. 29. Call 508-432-2900 for rates.

Sandwich Lodge & Resort
3. Rates are as low as $69 at Sandwich Lodge & Resort in Cape Cod’s Sandwich village, where visitors can relax (and warm up) in a bubbly indoor jacuzzi. TripAdvisor reviewer Adria Z posted that the hotel was “an affordable option that gave us what we needed’’ this September and was especially enamored with the pool.
Route 6A, Sandwich. Sept. 9 to Oct. 13. Call 508-888-2275 for rates.
