$1 admission to Boston Children’s Museum

An excellent way to save money at the Boston Children’s Museum this month is by planning your trip on a Friday night between 5 and 9 p.m. That’s because it only costs $1 for museum admission on what the museum calls Target Fridays (that’s a $13 savings per ticket!). If you can’t make it on a Friday but still want to save money, head to the museum an hour before close (4 p.m. or later on Saturday through Thursday, the days the museum closes at 5 p.m.) to enjoy half off your admission.

Military Family Discounts at Museums, Zoos

Attention military families! Did you know you can visit 68 Massachusetts museums for free through Labor Day? It’s all part of the Blue Star Museums program, a program launched in 2010 as a thank you to our nation’s military families. Which Massachusetts museums are on the list? The Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Discovery Museums, the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, just to name a few.
Oh, and our local zoos would like to thank military families as well by offering 50 percent off tickets to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham. That’s around a $9 savings per adult ticket at Franklin Park Zoo and around a $7.50 savings for an adult ticket at Stone Zoo.
