Take dad on an adventure weekend

New England Inns & Resorts is offering several Father’s Day packages at places like Glynn House Inn in Ashland, N.H. (pictured) and Sterling Ridge Log Cabin Resort in Jeffersonville, Vermont.
The Father’s Day package at Glynn House Inn includes two zip line tickets plus a three-course dinner for two with a bottle of wine at the Six Burner Bistro restaurant. Package price is $249 above room rate. Stay with dad in a log cabin and take fly fishing lessons at Sterling Ridge Log Cabin. The package includes a two-hour fly fishing class (for adults and kids age 10 and up). Dad will learn how to cast and tie flies and basic knots. Prices range from $365 to $411 per night based on the size of the cabin and the season.

Cruise Boston Harbor

Spend Sunday cruising around Boston Harbor with your dad. Book dad a Father’s Day cruise on the Odyssey and he’ll enjoy gorgeous views of the city and live entertainment while he dines. Father’s Day brunch is $69.90 per adult, $41.95 per child age 3 to 12 and dinner is $74.90 per adult, $44.95 per child age 3 to 12. Or book a “Boston Harbor Father’s Day Lunch Cruise’’ aboard theSpirit of Boston, which will include lunch, an ice cream sundae bar, and goodie bags for the kids, for $54.90 per adult, $32.95 per child age 3 to 12.

Give dad a wild Father’s Day at the zoo Sunday and save money while you’re at it. That’s because all dads are free on Father’s Day at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and Stone Zoo in Stoneham!

Restaurants across New England are offering specials for dad on Sunday. For example, Clink at Liberty Hotel (pictured) in Boston will host its 3rd Annual Father’s Day Pig Roast. Flora in Arlington is offering dad a cold one on the house. Forum in Boston will have brunch and dinner specials, Masa will give dad a complimentary Fortaleza tequila sampling, there’s an all-you-can-eat clambake happening at Pier 6 in Charlestown, and more. Fun with Curious George

If dad still has little ones, a morning with the kids at The Curious George Store in Cambridge will put a smile on his face. There will be a dad-themed story time and craft. Stories will include “Papa, Do You Love Me?’’ and “My Dad Thinks He’s Funny.’’ Then kids will make a Father’s Day card. This free event is happening Friday from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

‘Gay Father’s Day’ fete

The final day of Boston’s annual Gay Pride celebration falls on Father’s Day. Celebrate at the South End restaurant The Beehive , which is hosting a “Gay Father’s Day’’ fete on Sunday. Dad will enjoy food specials and live performances honoring the divas of soul, including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Gladys Knight, and more.

Go for a canoe ride

If dad loves nature, take him canoeing Saturday morning at 7 a.m. at Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick. The Father’s Day package includes a breakfast, which will be served midway through the journey on the banks of the river. Canoes, paddles, lifejackets, a basic paddling overview, and guides will all be provided. The price is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. Recommended for kids age teen and up.

Treat dad to a concert

Gore Place mansion in Waltham will host a Father’s Day classical concert Sunday at 3 p.m. featuring Sylvia Berry. Berry is celebrating the release of her debut CD “Haydn: London Sonatas.’’ Dan can sit back and listen to Berry perform piano sonatas written by Joseph Haydn, a prominent composer of the Classical period.
