From lobsters and scallops to garlic and rhubarb, New England offers a variet y of seasonal favorites for the food lover’s palate. With dozens of food festivals taking place across the region during the coming months there’s sure to be something for everyone. Here’s a roundup of some of the best from each state.

Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival
Sept. 20-22, Newport
Alex Guarnaschelli and Michel Richard will be present at this festival, held at Rosecliff and Marble House. One hundred wineries will take part in a two-day tasting on Marble House’s lawn, and there will be demonstrations, live and silent auctions, and a gala celebration.

Bourne Scallop Fest
Sept. 20-22, Buzzards Bay
More than three tons of scallops will be served to some 55,000+ attendees at the 44th Annual Bourne Scallop Fest. In addition to the seafood dishes, there will also be arts and crafts vendors, a midway of carnival rides and games, and a full entertainment slate. A great way to say farewell to the sights and smells of summer for another year.
Admission is $6 for adults, $22 for a scallop dinner combination ticket. $2 for children 6-12, kids under 5 are free.

Keene Pumpkin Festival
Oct. 19, Keene, N.H.
With fall right around the corner, pumpkin lovers are soon to rejoice. Those looking for a little extra pumpkin appreciation can head to the Keene Pumpkin Festival in Downtown Keene, N.H. Hosted by local nonprofit organizations, the event will feature pumpkin-based treats among a wide variety of other menu offerings. Other features include a Ferris wheel, pumpkin bowling, and a children’s costume parade. The cost of admission is a suggested donation of $5 per adult (and a carved pumpkin).

Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival
Oct. 19-20, Newport, R.I.
In October, Bowen’s Wharf will host the 23d annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival, offering up everything from lobster dinners to clam cakes and everything in between. Festivalgoers will also enjoy an array of music, including Celtic, folk, and “sea-shanties.’’ Admission is free; food and drinks will up for purchase at vendor booths.

Hancock Shaker Village Supper
Oct. 19 & Nov. 30, Pittsfield
Ever wonder what makes a traditional Shaker meal? The Hancock Shaker Village Supper will leave you wondering no more. The night includes a tour of the village, a cheese and cider reception and dinner with Shaker entrees, appetizers and desserts buffet style for $65.

Boston Vegetarian Food Festival
Oct. 26-27, Boston
Vegetarians get a time to shine in not one but two days of veggie-based festivities. The Boston Vegetarian Food Festival is free to the public, offering a wide variety of healthy food as well as some exciting exhibits and activities. Free food sampling, cooking demonstrations, educational exhibits, and children’s activities are just some of the features of the festival, the longest running even of its kind in the United States.

Maine Harvest Festival
Nov. 16-17, Bangor, Maine
The motto of the Maine Harvest Festival in Bangor is “Celebrating farm fresh.’’ The fest will include samples from local vendors, food booths, cooking demonstrations and wine and beer tastings. Tickets are $6 at the door for everyone over the age of 12.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, “America’s Hometown’’ celebrates its heritage and the fall holiday with a parade and food festival. The food festival is all things New England with chowder, dessert and decor. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children under 12. Children under 5 are free.

Jingle Bell Chocolate Tour
Nov. 30-Dec. 21, Jackson, N.H.
In the picturesque town of Jackson, N.H., go back in time by taking the Jingle Bell Chocolate Tour in a sleigh ride. The tour will begin at the Nestlenook Estate and go through town to inns and stores to collect chocolate treasures. The tours will be every weekend beginning Nov. 30 until Dec. 21. It is $25 per person.

Currier and Ives Christmas Cookie Tour
Dec. 14, Monadnock region of New Hampshire
This self-guided tour to inns, shops and historical socities will have participants stuffed to the brim with cookies and new recipes for the holiday season. At the 13 different stops, homemade Christmas desserts and refreshments will be handed out, so make sure to bring a tin. Tickets are $12.

Pies on Parade
Jan. 26, Rockport, Maine
The 10th Annual Pies on Parade Pie Tour takes place in Rockland on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1-4 p.m. During this event, pie lovers travel from one historic Rockland inn to the next, sampling the pies at each one — including the LimeRock Inn’s signature Key LimeRock Pie. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children under 10.
