, Middlefield, Conn. – Corn maze designer Brett Herbst created Lyman Orchards’ 2012 Red Sox vs. Yankees maze. Davis Mega Maze, Sterling – A combination murder mystery and corn maze, the Davis Mega Maze can be completed several different ways and at several different difficulty levels. On the last three Friday and Saturday nights of October, the maze will also feature Fright Nights, geared toward adults – bring a flashlight. 145 Redstone Hill, Sterling. Sherman Farm
, Conway, N.H. – The Maize at Sherman Farm is in its 6th year. If you go, you can enjoy corn cannons, cider donuts, kettle corn, and hayrides to the pumpkin patch, too.

Mike’s Maze, Sunderland – This year, Mike’s Maze depicts f Jean François Millet’s “The Sower’s Banquet.” The painting is part of the Museum of Fine Arts collection, and guests at the maze will be able to participate in a game where they will be challenged to live the life fo a farmer. 23 South Main St., Sunderland. 413-665-8331. $10 per adult; $8 seniors and students with ID; children 4 – 12 $7; children under 4 free.

Gaines Farm, Guilford, Vt. – At Gaines Farm, visitors have the option of either exploring the maze during daylight hours, or getting downright spooky by navigating it at night. Gaines fall activites also include pumpkin bowling, and a corn cannon, where visitors can finally discover whether they can launch an ear of corn 400 feet in to the air. 6343 Coolidge Highway, Guilford, Vt., 802-257-0409. $7 adults, $6 seniors, children under 3 are free. The haunted maze is $10 for adults, and is open 6:30-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 27.

Foster Family Farm , South Windsor, Conn. – Foster Family Farm’s maze is a tribute to the circus this year. Lake Knoll Farm, Alton, N.H. – The activities at Lake Knoll this fall include Caboose snacks, and tractor rides. Beans and Greens Farm, Gilford, N.H. – No, it isn’t a tribute to Tetris. Beans and Greens Farm designed this year’s maze as a tribute to the Olympics. The maze is a treasure hunt, where guests can find prizes and answer trivia questions. The maze, as you can tell, is not designed for aerial imagery, but rather to challenge visitors who navigate it. 245 Intervale Rd., Gilford, N.H. 603-293-2853. Pumpkin Valley Farm, Dayton, Maine – Most maze-goers will spend about an hour navigating the twists and turns at Pumpkin Valley Farm. This year’s theme, appropriately enough, is “Fun on the Farm.” Need help? Great Vermont Corn Maze, Danville, Vt. – The Great Vermont Corn Maze has been designing corn mazes for 13 years now, and in 2012 presents a new design with a host of other attractions. Sauchuk Farms celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts with its corn maze. 53 Palmer Road., Plympton, 781-585-1522 $10.95 admission includes the maze, as well as other activities including a jumping pillow and a hayride.
