The Urban Hound

The Urban Hound is open and staffed 24 hours a day/ 365 days a year. It has a hospital-grade air filtration system, K-9 grass, an Urban Hound training classroom, and luxury sleep suites (pictured).

The Pooch Hotel is a 5-star hotel and daycare, exclusively for dogs. It features custom-made hotel suites with glass doors, a spa offering aromatherapy bathing, massage, pawdicures, facials, and more, and a fitness club.

Fenway Bark, located on the oceanfront in Boston, offers more than just private condos with television and Skype services for your pet. Pets frolick in the splash pool (pictured) or on indoor grass parks overlooking the ocean. You can also sign your pet up for private play groups. And why not add a blueberry facial, a massage, or an acupressure treatment to your pet’s stay?

At Red Dog Pet Resort & Spa in Boston, your pet can chill out in a private suite with a flat screen TV. Cats enjoy custom-designed multi-level rooms with music, sunlight, and small bathrooms. You can order extra play time and treats, purified water, and a bedtime tuck-in.

At Toureen Pet Resort & Spa in Watertown, pets can receive a turn-down nightly biscuit service, which makes owner Chris Callanan “the most popular guy in here’’ he says with a laugh. Dogs listen to classical music and can take strolls on the Riverwalk. Cats stay in condos and play in an indoor gym. Pet owners can schedule personal play times or group play times for their pet.

At Muddy Creek Animal Care Center in Rowley, cats can sleep in four-poster beds in their own condo in the facility’s “Cat Tail Inn’’ (pictured).

“I always say a little bit bigger and I’d be staying in one of those units,’’ says Ana Hubbard, daycare boarding supervisor, with a laugh.

Cats can also enjoy playtime, sunbathing, and TV time. Dogs can enjoy cuddle time, extra treats, story time, and play time. This facility also boards ferrets and rabbits.

Chez Mieux in Natick is for cats only. Cats stay in multi-level condos with a window view (the cats pictured are sharing a condo because they are from the same family). They can enjoy leisurely strolls, playtime with toys, and cuddle time with caregivers.<br><br>“We’ve set it up to look more like a room in their home than to look like an institution,’’ said owner Patricia Dowd about the facility’s decor.

At Bond Luxury Kennels in Norwood, pets enjoy a “fluff and buff service’’ before they go home. Dogs sleep in luxury suites with customized beds and are walked five times a day. They enjoy wading pools in the summer and play time in the snow in the winter. Webcams are available so you can check on your pet. Cats sleep in private condos with luxury beds and scratching posts. Animals can enjoy a nightly tuck-in, treats, and more.
