Football player/oversized person Rob Gronkowski went on Access Hollywood earlier this week and endorsed Ben Affleck’s widely publicized feelings on Deflategate.
“He was passionate,” Gronkowski told hosts Kit Hoover and Arsenio Hall. “I loved it. Couldn’t agree with him any more.”
In case you missed it, Affleck was a guest last week on Bill Simmons’s new HBO show, Any Given Wednesday, where he delivered an impassioned tirade regarding Tom Brady versus the NFL in the case of deflating footballs.
“To tell you the truth, that’s how I really want to talk about it, too,” Gronk told the Access Hollywood hosts. “We just can’t go on air as an athlete and say all that. I can’t just go do that. But Ben Affleck basically just said it how I want to say it. So he did a great job. … Us as athletes [and] NFL players can’t just go out there in the media and start dropping F-bombs everywhere. … You get fined for press conferences, for criticizing people. So you can’t really do it. You have to keep it professional.”
This message on professionalism is brought to you by a man donning a T-shirt that reads “Crush everything” on television. Gronk, please never change.
