A Massachusetts dad took to TikTok last week with what he acknowledged was a long shot — an invitation for musician Benson Boone to attend his son’s 4th birthday party.
Addressing the singer-songwriter, Ryan Benoit, a Fairhaven police officer, shared that his son, Ryder, is one of Boone’s “biggest fans” and requested a “Benson Boone birthday party.”
“He loves singing your songs,” Benoit said. “He listens to them literally every single day.”
When asked if he wants a party with a more typical kid theme, Benoit said his 3-year-old declines.
“Every time he says ‘no,’ he says ‘I want Benson Boone,’” Benoit said. “He is the most kind, sweet-hearted kid. And the way he belts out his songs, I would think that he’s on stage with you.”
The dad shared an image of the invitation to the Sept. 20 party, which features a picture of Boone.
“I know it’s a long shot, if you can come, please do so,” Benoit said.

Since it was posted, the video has garnered more than a million views — and a comment from Boone.
“Well I think I’ve got some good news for you and Ryder,” the musician wrote.
In a separate video posted by Benoit, a giggling Ryder responded.
“Thank you for mentioning me,” the 3-year-old says. “I love your music. You’re my best buddy.”
Boone responded with another comment, accompanied with a tears of joy emoji: “We are officially best buddies.”
Benoit shared an update Monday that the family has been gifted tickets to Boone’s Sept. 2 show at TD Garden by radio station Kiss108. The station is also giving the family Benson Boone merchandise and party supplies for his birthday celebration.
