Few things are more frustrating to a music fan than hearing that a favorite band is coming to town, only to find out that the show is sold out. We’re here to help you avoid that pitfall — and the overpriced secondary ticket market — by consulting local experts Megan Madara of The Wilbur, Christine Varriale of Bowery Presents, and Bridget Gillis and Lisa Vassallo of Live Nation. Below, check out a half-dozen shows we’ve heard are dangerously low on tickets.

King Crimson
The legendary British prog-rock act is celebrating its 50th year. It’s not often you have the opportunity to witness a band with this kind of longevity, so take advantage of the smattering of seats available on the balcony level. (Monday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Orpheum Theatre; all ages; $38; tickets available here)

6LACK
General admission for the Atlanta rapper’s show is sold out, but you can still cop VIP tickets if you feel like ballin’. (Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8:30 p.m.; Royale; 18+; $125.60; with Sabrina Claudio, Sy Ari Da Kid; tickets available here)

Saint Motel
We’re proud to say that RadioBDC was one of the first stations in the nation to play these Los Angeles indie-poppers. Now they’ve crossed over and will likely sell this show out soon, according to Varriale. (Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.; Royale; 18+; $20; with Gibbz; tickets available here)

Turnover
These Virginia Beach rockers have graduated from the opening slot to legitimate headliners for a solid Sunday night bill. Presale tickets went fast, so don’t wait until the night of the show to make your purchase. (Sunday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.; Royale; all ages; $17; with Elvis Depressedly, Emma Ruth Rundle; tickets available here)

The Killers
It feels crazy to talk about January shows in November, but here we are. While no openers have been announced for this date yet, ticket sales will pick up soon and premium seats will start filling up. (Sunday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m.; TD Garden; all ages; $30; tickets available here)

Walk The Moon
The $35 tickets are standing room only, and they’re selling quickly. If you want premium seats, you’ll have to pay a bit more. And those will be gone like the wind, too, according to Vassallo. (Saturday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m.; House of Blues; all ages; $35; tickets available here)
