LOUDON, N.H. (AP) — Months after learning that the state was losing a top-tier NASCAR race to Las Vegas, a zoning board has approved a three-day country music festival for next summer at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The speedway in Loudon estimates that the event would bring in 20,000 visitors in August 2018.

David McGrath, speedway executive vice president, said Thursday a recent study concluded the festival would have a positive economic impact on the region. There have been concerns about the impact of the loss of the September NASCAR race on tourism and revenue.

The Loudon Zoning Board decision allows for camping and tenting. Participants would be able to stay on the grounds for up to four nights.
