Do you ever assume you can wait to get tickets at the door to your favorite shows, only to find that they already sold out? We consulted promoters from different venues around town—Alex Pickert of Coach & Sons Olde Time Family Booking, Andie Rizzolo of Crossroads Presents, and Ryan Agate of RTT Presents—to warn you about which Boston concerts are running low on tickets. If you snooze this time, don’t say we never told you so.MUNA
Los Angeles electropop trio MUNA has played big stages like Lollapalooza and the one on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, all before even putting out a record. Now, upon the release of the band’s debut album, be there to catch MUNA’s first headlining Boston show. (Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m.; Brighton Music Hall; $15; 18+; with Lo Moon, DJ Carbo; tickets available here) Note: This show is sponsored by RadioBDC, a property of Boston Globe Media.Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears
This Austin garage soul crew has been moving audiences for the past 10 years at countless festivals and on late-night talk show stages. The band released its fifth studio album earlier this month and is playing a more intimate Boston venue to celebrate. (Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m.; Middle East Downstairs; $17; 18+; with Dams of the West; tickets available here) We The Kings
Florida-based pop punk collective We The Kings has established quite the following over the past decade, collaborating with artists such as Demi Lovato and becoming regulars on Warped Tour. Now, with a new album on the way, the band is stopping in Boston as part of a special tour commemorating 10 years as a band. (Sunday, February 26 at 6 p.m.; Brighton Music Hall; $25; all ages; with Plaid Brixx, Astro Lasso, Cute Is What We Aim for; tickets available here) Live Band Emo / Pop-Punk Karaoke
Some say emo is going through a resurgence; others believe emo never died. Either way, monthly emo nights have found their way into the schedules of a few venues around Boston. Middle East is taking the concept to another level by allowing showgoers to provide the vocals on stage with a live band. Being the lead singer of your favorite band from your teenage years is a rare opportunity, so don’t miss your chance to show off your pipes. (Saturday, March 4 at 8 p.m.; Middle East Downstairs; $12; 18+; tickets available here) Slingshot Dakota
This Pennsylvania duo is touring behind last year’s Break, which it released on local label Topshelf Records. According to promoter Ryan Agate, this is also the first show for opening band Pushflowers, a group featuring members of local bands Off & On and The Weeds. Such a stacked bill in such a small room means that remaining tickets are moving quickly. (Saturday, March 4 at 8 p.m.; O’Brien’s Pub; $10; 18+; with Ratboys, Lilith, Pushflowers; tickets available here)Every Time I Die
This upstate New York metalcore crew is hitting Boston for the first time since the release of its eighth album, Low Teens, this past fall. Every Time I Die typically plays House of Blues-sized venues when they roll through town, so don’t snooze if you want to see them at Middle East Downstairs. (Thursday, March 9 at 6 p.m.; Middle East Downstairs; $20; all ages; with Knocked Loose, Harm’s Way, Eternal Sleep; tickets available here)The Templars
Long Island Oi! punk crew The Templars has a strong underground following, which is why the band is selling Middle East Downstairs quickly despite having not put out a full-length album in more than 10 years. If you want to catch these punk vets live, you better plan on securing tickets in advance. (Saturday, April 22 at 7 p.m.; Middle East Downstairs; $25; 18+; with Battle Ruins; Shipwrecked, Fit For Abuse, Boston Strangler; tickets available here)Amanda Palmer
Local songwriter Amanda Palmer typically packs theater-sized venues when performing with her band, The Dresden Dolls. It’s no wonder then, that the presale for her solo show at the Middle East went quickly. Don’t miss your chance when the remaining tickets go on sale on Friday, Feb. 24. (Wednesday, May 17 at 8 p.m.; Middle East Downstairs; $25; 18+; with Edward Ka-Spel; tickets available here)
