Adele wanted to make sure Amy Winehouse felt Boston’s love during her show Wednesday night on what would have been the late singer’s 33rd birthday.

The British superstar dedicated a “mesmerizing cover” of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” to Winehouse, asking the audience to light up the stadium in her honor.

Winehouse died of accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27 after a struggle to stay sober.

The “Rehab” singer attended the BRIT School, as did Adele. During Adele’s first of two shows at TD Garden, the singer talked about how Winehouse shaped her musical career, especially her first album, and inspired her to play guitar.

“I used to think she was the coolest [motherf—–] and because of her I learned guitar and wrote songs,” she said to the crowd. “… I’m honestly completely happy with all the music she left behind because it is all genius, but every day I wish I could hear a new song from her so tonight I dedicate this song to Amy Winehouse.”

The song wasn’t Adele’s first dedication of the day to Winehouse. She tweeted “Happy Birthday Amy,” with an “X” for a kiss and a picture of a youthful Winehouse earlier Wednesday.
