A 13-year-old pianist’s dreams came true last week when he got to play with the most famous “Piano man” of all: Billy Joel.

Bradley Bartlett-Roche, who calls himself the “Boston Piano Kid,” performed with Joel at Fenway Park on Thursday, describing the experience as “surreal” in a Facebook post.

Joel invited Bartlett-Roche to play the instrumental song “Root Beer Rag” together. But before they started playing, he had some fun with the crowd while introducing the young pianist.

“You know after this, it’s all downhill,” he joked. “… It took me 60 years to get here!”
