Here’s what big summer concert tickets are going for in Boston
From Beyoncé to Guns N’ Roses, here’s what you have to shell out to see this season’s biggest shows.
Summer is road trip season, especially for some of the world’s biggest bands, many of which take the seasonal trek across the U.S. This year’s big bill summer tours include Beyoncé, Barbra Streisand, and a reunited Guns ‘N’ Roses, and seats are in high demand.
If you weren’t able to grab tickets during the public on-sale periods for many of these shows, you will probably have to shell out some extra money just to get in. But how much, exactly? We compared face value prices to current listed prices on secondary-market ticket outlet StubHub to find out. Of course, the market not only contains some really high outliers, but costs will continue to change as these shows draw nearer. Here is a glimpse at how prices look as June quickly approaches.

Beyoncé
Touring for the first time since Lemonade released, tickets for Queen Bey are in higher demand than ever. Only doing one night in Massachusetts is helping inflate resale value, as StubHub has plenty of listings well into the thousand-dollar range.
Friday, June 3 at Gillette Stadium
Sold out
Face value: $50 to $310
Current StubHub range: $85 to $2,992
Time until show: 10 days
Paul McCartney
Sir Paul is one of the most celebrated musicians ever, but the fact that he has been no stranger to Fenway over the past decade has kept this summer’s resale prices within reason. (That is, if you consider thousand-dollar tickets within reason for a Beatle.)
Sunday, July 17 at Fenway Park
Sold out
Face value: $59.50 to $275
Current StubHub range: $78 to $2,833.85
Time until show: 54 days
Pearl Jam
The Seattle grunge heroes make their debut at Fenway this summer, and while a two-night swing has helped keep the most expensive tickets a bit lower, the band’s rabid fan base, many of whom will likely attend both nights, may have helped keep the lowest second-hand prices pretty high.
Friday, August 5 and Sunday, August 7 at Fenway Park
Sold out
Face value: $65 to $85
Current StubHub range: $150 to $1462.48
Time until show: 74 days
Drake and Future
The two hip-hop heavy hitters are a hot ticket this summer. While face value tickets are reasonable, they were quick to sell out, and any tickets below three figures would be tough to find on the second-hand market.
Wednesday, August 10 at TD Garden
Sold out
Face value: $45 to $145
Current StubHub range: $210 to $3700
Time until show: 79 days
Guns N’ Roses
It has been too long since GNR hit the road, which is the main reason why tickets remain on the high side. Don’t be fooled though—the $6,899 tickets are extreme outliers. With the addition of the second show, not only are there tickets available at face value, but second-hand prices remain affordable for the most part as well.
Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20 at Gillette Stadium
Tickets still available for 7/20 show
Face value: $50.50 to $280
Current StubHub range: $57 to $6,899.99
Time until show: 56 days
Barbra Streisand
The highest-selling female artist of all time is also a high ticket-seller. While the general on-sale date hasn’t even passed yet, resale tickets are already steadily pushing $6,000 and will likely continue to rise as August approaches.
Tuesday, August 16 at TD Garden
On sale Wednesday, May 25
Face value: $99 to $510
Current StubHub range: $163 to $5,771
Time until show: 85 days
Adele
The British vocalist was playing House of Blues just a few short years ago, but with the release of 25 last fall, the demand for Adele tickets is through the roof. While 5,000-dollar tickets are outliers for resale prices, plan on dishing out prices well into three figures in order to secure a ticket to either Garden show.
Wednesday, September 14 and Thursday, September 15 at TD Garden
Sold out
Face value: $35 to $145
Current StubHub range: $269 to $5000
Time until show: 113 days
Dead & Company
Last summer’s Fare Thee Well shows in Chicago helped to spark up another Grateful Dead resurgence. While members of the band are now touring with John Mayer on guitar, the act merited two nights at Fenway, with tickets still available for face value.
Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at Fenway Park
Tickets still available for both nights
Face value: $55 to $104
Current StubHub range: $62 to $2500
Time until show: 52 days
Pitbull
Mr. Worldwide brings the party to Boston this summer, and for a pretty reasonable cost. Not only are face value tickets still available, but resale tickets are currently maxing out at just over a hundred bucks.
Friday, August 12 at TD Garden
Tickets still available
Face value: $35.45 to $135.45
Current StubHub range: $58.90 to $750
Time until show: 81 days
Coldplay
Chris Martin and company roll through Foxboro in support of their latest album, A Head Full of Dreams. It’s the band’s first stadium tour of the U.S., which may explain why there are tickets still available.
Saturday, July 30 at Gillette Stadium
Tickets still available
Face value: $29.50 to $179.50
Current StubHub range: $61.11 to $2,004.10
Time until show: 67 days
Luke Bryan
Off of the heels of last year’s Kill The Lights, Luke Bryan will give the summer country crowd something to celebrate at a slightly more affordable price than genre vet Kenny Chesney, although face value tickets are still available for both shows.
Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at Gillette Stadium
Tickets still available
Face value: $39.50 to $125
Current StubHub range: $44 to $850
Time until show: 52 days
Kenny Chesney
The singer’s new album will drop on July 8, right in the heat of the summer. Like previous years, he will stop at Gillette Stadium, and like previous year, it will be a hot, but affordable ticket.
Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27 at Gillette Stadium
Tickets still available
Face value: $59.50 to $265
Current StubHub range: $67 to $1800
Time until show: 95 days
