How Marty Walsh pulled off his Adele music video transformation
Plus, where his staffer found that fur coat for a bargain.
Mayor Marty Walsh recently starred in a parody video of Adele’s hit song “Hello.” The video, which played up the strong and apparently bromantic working relationship between Walsh and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, stayed true to its inspiration—Walsh even emulated one of Adele’s music video outfits.

According to The Boston Globe, Walsh’s faux fur coat was purchased from the Garment District for a cool $17.
“I got the biggest coat I could find,” Nancy Kwan, a Walsh staff member who helps write his speeches, told the Globe. She also managed to track down the coat when the Cambridge store was in the midst of a half-price sale.
The pop star sunglasses that Walsh wore in the video were even more affordable—Joyce Linehan, the mayor’s chief of policy, provided them from her own collection, according to the Globe. Affordable and chic.
