Watch Demi Lovato perform one of her new songs for the very first time in Boston
The songstress played “Mr. Hughes’’ live at the Jingle Ball Thursday night.
Demi Lovato performed at Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball last night, singing to a sold-out audience at TD Garden. Her set list included hit favorites, like the title track from her new album Confident and her majorly-popular single “Cool For The Summer,’’ as well as lesser-known tunes like “Mr. Hughes’’, which she had never sung live before she performed it for Bostonians.
“I’ve never played this song on stage before. Ever. So this is the very first time,’’ Lovato said before jumping into the performance.

“It sounded a little all over the place,’’ Lovato said about her first-ever rendition of the song, which is only available on the deluxe edition of Confident, after it ended. “My band sounded fantastic. I’m still getting used to it.’’
But based on the screaming that erupted from the crowed during her show, nobody had any issues with “Mr. Hughes’’ other than Lovato.
The Jingle Ball announcer told the audience later that Lovato said “Boston is the best crowd ever.’’ We’re glad she saved “Mr. Hughes’’ for us.
