Rachel Platten is playing this year’s MixFest

Third Eye Blind and Rob Thomas, throwbacks to your high school days, are on the bill, too.

Local hero Rachel Platten will bring her “Fight Song’’ to this year’s MixFest at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell. She’ll be joined by your high school mix tape favorites, Rob Thomas and Third Eye Blind, as well as Andy Grammer of “Honey I’m Good’’ fame and Taylor Swift squad member, Vance Joy.

Also, a TBD addition: The “15 Seconds of Fame’’ winner, a Mix 104.1-vetted unknown who will snag an opening spot on the bill.

The annual festival goes down at noon on September 19, with music kicking off at 2 p.m. until sundown. Oh, and it’s free, but first come first serve, so be ready to duke it out for prime Esplanade seating.
