Which Taylor Swift BFF will be in Boston?
Haim, check! And 13 more possibilities we think we might see.
Despite the shocking and blasphemous revelation that Taylor Swift may not actually be our tried and true, friendship-bracelet-weaving, Bad-Blood-sister bestie we thought, she certainly still has a lot of comrades in the world. The 25-year-old singer of “Shake It Off’’ comes to Gillette this weekend for two sold-out nights, and as is customary for all stops on the 1989 World Tour, Swift is probably bringing along some surprise special guests.
Some will sing, some will strut, some will bring the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy on stage and present it to Swift like a golden chalice. But likely, they’ll just join Swift on her dissent down the runway during “Style,’’ and collaborate on a song or two, as to not totally disrupt the 2.5 hours of pure, unadulterated Swift-ness that ticketholders are paying for.
But who will it be? Who is Boston enough? Who is Swift-y enough? (Though if it’s the official revival of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, I’m leaving.) Here are some very good guesses.
Rachel Platten — Our local girl du jour joined for an earlier portion of the tour, so Taylor already knows all the words to “Fight Song.’’
Meghan Trainor — Nantucket native is not part of Swift’s inner circle, but she really, reallllywants to meet her.
Cara Delevingne — Paper Towns drops this Friday soooo…..
Ed Sheeran — The bestest BFF of all Swift’s BFFs is playing his own (highly ambitous) show at Gillette at the end of September.
Karlie Kloss — The Harvard hopeful has appeared in other “Style’’ strut-offs.

Lorde — The past Boston Calling headliner popped up in D.C. so it’s not like she can’t place us on a map.
Some country music hopeful — Boston is a massive country market, and even though Swift abandoned her twangy roots for pop, there’s a chance some music executive mogul is looking to capitalize on this. Which lucky crooner will it be? Perhaps, tour alumn Sam Hunt.
James Taylor — It’s nearly 90 in the Berkshires, so I’m sure the classic rock god could be coaxed out his luxe cabin in the woods for another duet of “Fire and Rain.’’
Sara Bareilles — She’s been in town to work on “Waitress’’ at the ART and joined Swift on the Red tour’s L.A. stop to sing “Brave’’ in 2013.
Carly Simon — She joined at Gillette two years ago and by now at least some of those fans should know the words to “You’re So Vain.’’
Ethel Kennedy — All my money goes here.
Sam Smith — He’s on his own tour, but was just in Boston to get his throat checked at MassGeneral.
The cast of Ghostbusters — This unspeakable aside, this would be so incredibly cool. Slimer is not invited.
