Genesis Reunites for First Time in Nearly 40 Years for BBC Documentary
For the first time since 1975 Genesis has reunited in its entirety, and the history-in-the-making moments have be recorded by the BBC.
The network, under the banner of BBC Music, made the announcement on Monday that it is planning a feature-length documentary called, “Genesis: Together And Apart,’’ for BBC Two, which will feature all of the original band members (Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, and Mike Rutherford).
Collins, who left the group in 1996, confirmed the news on his Facebook page this morning.
“The film recounts an extraordinary musical story, exploring the band’s songwriting as well as emotional highs and lows,’’ the post reads, “alongside previously unseen archive material and rare performance footage across their entire career.’’

The band, deemed a group of “prog-rock pioneers,’’ was originally fronted by recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Peter Gabriel, who left the group in 1975. Drummer Phil Collins took over lead vocals soon after.
We aren’t sure of a release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we hear.
